The only Don in Ghanaian music, Mr. Charles Nii Armah Mensah , globally known as Shatta Wale, aka the African Dancehall King, says he is the only international musician in Ghana, so no one should add him to the local artistes in Ghana.
Shatta Wale made the above statement in his Facebook live video when addressing matters arising from Nigeria’s Burna Boy winning a Grammy Award.
He also accused the Ghanaian media for always focusing on negative things, therefore failing to promote their good works that could qualify them for Grammy. he said the media prefer criticizing artiste to promoting them.
“You think Burna Boy and Wizkid don’t have music record labels signed to? I can’t use monies from my shows to shoot those expensive videos to win Grammy Award. I will rather buy houses. My Houses are my Grammy Award. when mentioning musicians in Ghana, exclude me, I am the only international artiste for Ghanaians.” Shatta Wale added.
